Sometimes dolls are afraid of storms too...

It was the stormiest July that Grace could remember...at least, the stormiest since the terrible tornadoes. When she was in kindergarten, tornadoes nearly destroyed their home, putting a tree branch through her bedroom window. Now, the tornado sirens are going off again, and Grace is trying to stay calm in the basement with her little brother, Elijah, while their parents prepare the house for the storm. At least Grace has her dollhouse.

The residents of the dollhouse, Betty, Walter, Julie, and Joe Dahl, are happy to try to distract Grace, especially Julie, Grace's 4-inch friend. Julie and her brother Joe, along with their felt puppy, Buttons, are preparing for another elaborate tea party-until Elijah, Grace's little brother, handles the stress of the oncoming storm by creating a mini storm for the dolls.

Elijah doesn't remember the terrible tornadoes and can't understand why Grace is so upset. He figures it's just rain, and nothing bad has ever happened, and besides, Dad says it's good for the crops. So, when Elijah decides to bring the storm inside, it's up to Grace and her dolls to stand up to Elijah.
